Green and white are my favorite colors in my garden. While I certainly have other colors, I am always attracted to any new plants that will yield white blooms. The colors are so serene together and everywhere I look right now I am being rewarded with abundant white flowers by all of those plants I have placed in my garden. Enjoy them as much as I am…
While I can’t pick a favorite white flower from all of my choices, this gorgeous Pope John Paul II flower is at the top of my list with its nearly 5″ flower and incredible fragrance! These roses are out in full bloom right now.
The ever-reliable Iceberg Rose
My favorite clematis: Duchess of Edinburgh
The stunning and showy Eddie’s White Wonder Dogwood
I have one white rhododendron in my garden and it is in full bloom right how. The white azaleas around it are receding after their beautiful show two weeks ago. I don’t have enormous success with rhododendrons, but this one looks very happy this year.
Pieris Japonica, or Lily of the Valley Shrub, native to Japan, Taiwan and parts of China
A white combine, variety unknown
I have two varieties of viburnum in my garden: the traditional snowball variety which I LOVE and several horizontal branching plants. They just came out in full force during this past week’s warmer weather. I wish these plants would bloom all summer long, as I’ll only get to enjoy them for a month before they fade away. What’s fabulous about the snowball variety is that I can enjoy chartreuse balls for a couple of weeks before they become white.
Isn’t spring the absolute best time of the year in our gardens???
